In 1947, Mr. Gottfried Hubschmid started an own production for electroplated grinding instruments. As an educated dentist, he proofed himself as a pioneer in processing new materials beside of natural Diamond. Ruby and Saphire were processed into the well-known Rubynit- and Diarit-lab-trimmers. Also a small range in HP and RA were beside of discs and wheels.

In 1963 the Hubschmid family moved from Reute in the near Canton of Appenzell to Steinach, directly ashore of the lake of Constance. At that time, Mr. Kurt Hubschmid, an educated toolmaker, joined the company. Together they developed a further range in the modern line of FG until the year 1973. Then old Mr. Gottfried Hubschmid retired.

Ursula, Kurt's wife then gave a huge support and so they created a new product: glass-engravers. In the early eighties, a complete modernized and extremely extended range of all kinds of Dental Diamond grinding Instruments for the lab and the surgery, was the result of an aim, to be able to offering a better quality than was averagely available on the market.

Because of the ever smaller becoming space conditions, HEICO changed its headquarters in 2000 again. At the new place, only not far away from the former headquarters, most modern systems are available for the production of Dental grinding Instruments. So a quality increase could be obtained again. The worldwide success is remarkable and confirms the accuracy of HEICO products.
